Terms of Use
Last updated 2 October 2026
These Terms of Use apply to your use of Waypost (“Waypost”, “we”, “us”). By creating an account or using Waypost, you agree to these Terms. Please also read our Privacy Policy.
1. The service
Waypost is a trip-planning service that lets you plan trips using maps, save places, organise stops, share trips and export trip information.
Waypost is currently available free of charge. We may add, change, suspend or discontinue features, parts of the service, or the service as a whole, at any time.
Waypost may be unavailable from time to time, including because of maintenance, technical problems, security measures or circumstances outside our control.
Waypost is not a backup or storage service, and trip information may be lost. Please keep your own copies of anything you cannot afford to lose; you can export a trip from Waypost at any time.
2. Your account
You must be at least 16 years old to create an account.
You are responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential and for activity carried out through your account. Please let us know if you believe your account has been accessed without permission.
We may impose or change limits on free accounts, including limits on the number of trips, places or other features available.
3. Your content
You retain the rights you have in content you add to Waypost.
You grant us a non-exclusive licence to store, process, reproduce and display that content as reasonably necessary to operate, maintain and provide Waypost, including making shared trips available to the people you choose to share them with.
You are responsible for ensuring that you have the necessary rights to the content you add to Waypost and that your content does not violate the law or the rights of others.
When you share a trip, information from that trip may be accessible to the people you share it with. Anyone who has access to a share link may be able to view the shared trip.
4. Acceptable use
You must not use Waypost to:
- violate applicable law or the rights of others;
- upload or share unlawful or infringing content;
- interfere with, disrupt, overload or attempt to compromise the service or its security;
- bypass technical limitations or account restrictions;
- scrape, copy or systematically collect content or data from Waypost;
- use Waypost or shared trip links to send spam, malware or other harmful content.
We may restrict, suspend or terminate access to Waypost, and may remove or restrict content, where reasonably necessary to enforce these Terms, protect Waypost or its users, prevent abuse, or comply with legal obligations.
5. Maps, places and third-party services
Waypost uses third-party services for functions such as maps, place information, search, photographs, hosting and authentication.
Map and place information may be incomplete, inaccurate or out of date. Distances shown by Waypost may be estimates and may not represent actual travel distances or routes.
Waypost does not guarantee the accuracy, availability, opening hours, prices, routes, bookings or other information provided by third parties.
You are responsible for checking information that is important to your travel plans.
Third-party services may be subject to their own terms and policies.
6. No travel service
Waypost is a planning and information tool. It does not itself provide transport, accommodation, restaurant reservations, travel insurance or other travel services unless expressly stated.
Any booking or travel arrangement you make with a third party is between you and that third party.
7. Donations
If Waypost offers an optional donation or support feature, making a donation is voluntary and does not create an entitlement to additional features or services. Any applicable payment terms shown at the time of payment apply.
8. Liability
Waypost is provided free of charge and as it is. To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for loss of or damage to content or data, arising from your use of, or inability to use, the service.
This includes losses relating to travel arrangements, bookings, routes, schedules, missed connections or other third-party services.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability, rights or remedies that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.
9. Ending your account
You may stop using Waypost at any time.
You may request deletion of your account by contacting us at contact@gowaypost.app. We may retain certain information where required or permitted by law or where reasonably necessary for security, fraud prevention, dispute resolution or other legitimate purposes described in our Privacy Policy.
We may suspend or terminate accounts in accordance with these Terms or where required by law.
10. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The current version will be made available on the Waypost website.
Changes will take effect as stated in the updated Terms or, where no date is stated, when the updated version is published, except where applicable law requires otherwise.
11. If part of these Terms does not apply
If a provision of these Terms turns out to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions stay in force.
12. Applicable law
These Terms are governed by Dutch law, except where mandatory law provides otherwise.
Nothing in these Terms affects rights that you have under mandatory consumer protection or other applicable law.
